WEEK #2 REFLECTION

5pm

Libby and I had another successful week working for Remy! We began the week helping Remy with various tasks from organizing and moving inventory, re-designing some of the store’s layout, as well as helping her upload old files and photo albums to her google drive. While in the process of helping her, Remy taught us a lot about how to be a successful business owner, and all the important details that are necessary to learn before entering the fashion industry. She showed us the website she uses to order her inventory online, and how she goes about choosing what items to sell from a brand’s summer or fall collection (those being the two seasons she tends to order from the most). Tuesday and Wednesday were days focused on campaign work for Remy’s non-profit Launch2 Life. Cat helped us collect content photos for the website, photos of Libby and I wearing Launch2 Life merch and other accessories by Remy. We also got interviewed about our own experiences with mental health and how we have found it,  as well as reflecting on the ways we have learned to handle challenging times as we leave our teenage years behind. By Thursday and Friday Libby and I transitioned to helping the marketing team of Remy, starting a project for Tiffany to help her when it comes time for them to redesign the Remy website. Most of this work is done online, so Libby and I have regular check-ins with each other to make sure we are on the same page about what we have found, and can upload to our shared google spreadsheet for Tiffany to see.

As I reflect on everything Libby and I have learned throughout this internship, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for Remy and everything she has done to help us learn about her business. I can’t imagine it is easy to take on two high-school seniors during their final weeks of school while also trying to prepare for the upcoming season in Nantucket as well as managing the Beacon Hill store. Remy has a lot on her plate, but the fact that we were both able to learn so much from her in such a short amount of time really shows how kind, caring and professional she is! I hope that we can continue this relationship in the future, because Libby and I both owe Remy a great deal of thanks for her willingness to take on this opportunity and learning experience for us both!
