Day 2 - Fashion Show
9:53pm
Today we began our days work at about 12pm, spending an hour or so uploading the content photos we took yesterday to the album that Tiffany shared with us, as well as watching youtube videos of how to social media market, promote products, and iPhone tutorial videos to learn the best ways to enhance our photos using an iPhone. At around 2:30pm, we left for the train station, arriving at Remy a little before 4 o’clock in the afternoon. Libby and I will be running the store for the first time this Saturday, so Remy thought it would be helpful for one of her employees, Cat, to train us on how to open, close, and overall run the store in preparation for this weekend. We spent about an hour and a half going over the details with Cat. She showed us how to check customers out, make sales, find different sizes of items from their storage in the basement, fold clothes, and tidy the store to make it look nice for customers. Once Remy arrived, we discussed the sale rack that had all the clothing items of the popular brands Remy sells, but with pieces that wouldn’t sell at their Boston location. It was very interesting to learn about how different styles of clothing translate in different environments, and how Remy notices when a clothing item seems to sell quickly in her Nantucket store versus not at all in Boston or vice versa. Next, Remy put together a bag of clothes that Libby and I went to drop off at Hampshire House down the street for the ‘Charles Street Couture’ Fashion Show that we were going to attend as Remy’s associates. We arrived with the clothes that their three models would be wearing, helped them style their outfits, and waited until the show began. We had so much fun! Overall, we spent a total of 6 hours working on our senior project today!
